This morning, I wanted to create an outerwear outfit without gloves for one of my sims, but no matter how many times I took those ugly things off the game kept putting them back on. And not only that, but they were always the worst, most mismatched ones in the catalog, and once she even spawned with a random CC pose accessory in her hand. o.O
So I created this tuning mod. It sets the kChanceRandomGenOuterwearHasWinterGloves value to 0. This fixes the problem with your active sims randomly appearing in gloves (even after you’ve removed them countless times…), but it also means that townies won’t spawn wearing gloves with their outerwear outfits either. This could be considered a good thing or a bad thing depending on your play style and the climate in your world, but I personally think it’s a tradeoff worth making.
My mod modifies the Sim XML file and is incompatible with any other mod that alters it. Curfew mods would be incompatible, and I’m guessing there are others as well, but the only one I know of for sure is the “Different Temps for Outerwear Changes for Sims” mod by bluegenjustu (found here). This mod changes the temperature at which sims switch into their outerwear outfits, and seeing as I use this mod in my own game I made four different versions of my mod, three that include the various outerwear temperature tuning as well.
No More Gloves with Outerwear Mod - EA’s default outerwear tuning. Sims will switch into their outerwear at 32⁰F (0⁰C) and switch out of it at 50⁰F (10⁰C).
No More Gloves with Outerwear + Sims Change into Outerwear at 45⁰F (7⁰C) Mod - Sims will switch into their outerwear at 45⁰F (7⁰C) and switch out of it at 50⁰F (10⁰C).
No More Gloves with Outerwear + Sims Change into Outerwear at 50⁰F (10⁰C) Mod - Sims will switch into their outerwear at 50⁰F (10⁰C) and switch out of it at 52⁰F (11⁰C).
No More Gloves with Outerwear + Sims Change into Outerwear at 57⁰F (14⁰C) Mod - Sims will switch into their outerwear at 57⁰F (14⁰C) and switch out of it at 60⁰F (16⁰C).
Also, I should warn you that I consider this mod in testing until I get some feedback from you all that it works fine in your game too. It will not hurt your game in any way whatsoever, and I tested it pretty thoroughly on my own, but I want to be sure that it functions as intended and keeps the gloves off of other people’s sims as well. So, if you use this mod, please pop back in and let me know that it worked for you. I will remove this text and take it out of testing once I’ve heard back from enough people that it functions as promised.
Created on patch level 1.63, it should work on 1.66 and 1.67 as well. It is also compatible with all of the NRaas mods, so if you want to adjust your sims’ curfew time try using twallan’s StoryProgression mod.

I know lot’s of people are really annoyed by the random gloves. Colleen to the rescue, fret no more.
